Woo Guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi passes away...

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, best known as the world's largest purveyor of transcendental meditation and provider of countless "levitation" photos of people hopping on mattresses, has died at the age of 91. He achieved his initial fame by convincing the Beatles, those bastions of rational inquiry, of his legitimacy, and was known later in life for his plans to bring about universal peace by, basically, getting a bunch of people to sit around and think happy thoughts.

The world, I suspect, is not that much worse off without him.

For an excellent examination of our departed friend, check out James Randi's old book Flim-Flam.
